Workforce Analysis of Targeted Industries
Workforce Investment Board of Will County is preparing for future growth by providing detail on emerging industries that will be advantageous for Will County today and will position the County for economic growth in the future and industries that recognize and address the County's strengths and weaknesses. A Workforce Analysis will accomplish both of these goals and will also focus on occupations in industries that can increase the average wages of Will County residents, position residents for value-added jobs, and expand on the County's competitive advantage.
This project will expand on and continue the work that was done in two previous Targeted Industry and Workforce Analysis' with the focus of this project being entirely the workforce analysis. This project will include a drill down of the occupational and workforce requirements of the industries targeted in the previous projects to identify future workforce challenges, requirements, and needs for the identified industries
The eight Workforce Boards of Metropolitan Chicago collaborate around workforce and economic development issues in the region. We work collectively as a consortium to address issues on a regional basis. The consortium has adopted a regional approach recognizing that cross-geographic issues impact the economic vitality of each area. All eight Boards work together to support a workforce system that provides quality employees for employers and develops real career opportunities for job seekers. We partner on strategic, policy, and operational issues and publish a variety of reports, summaries, newsletters, and information publications.The eight Workforce Boards of Metropolitan Chicago collaborate with local, state and national partners to publish a variety of reports, summaries, newsletters and informational publications.
Youthfutures is an Interactive web-based directory of youth services and organizations in Will County and the Chicago metropolitan region. This directory includes over 1000 providers of services and programs related to educational opportunities, health services, social services, careers, family support and much more.
For the past six years, the Will County Youth Provider Summit has been an opportunity for youth service providers to get together to share best practices, ideas, and information. The Summit, usually held in September, bring together over 100 youth providers for a one day educational and networking event.
