Adult Education and Literacy
Overview:
The Division of Adult and Family Services at Joliet Junior College offers programs that help adults acquire basic skills they need to be productive workers. Employees can upgrade their basic skills, receive assistance in preparing for their GED, or improve their speaking/communication skills through English as a Second Language instruction.

Eligibility:
- English as a second Language - Non-native speakers of English; adults ages 16 years-and-older who are not enrolled in high school.
- The Adult Basic Education program (ABE) is designed for out-of-school youth and adults ages 16-and-over with basic education skills below the eighth grade level.
